Tammie Vivian
Born and raised in South Texas, my love for dance and
movement started at a young age. I had the opportunity to be
active in cheerleading and tumbling and began dancing with
middle school and high school dance teams. I learn various types
of dance styles and techniques including ballet and tap, with
several studios. My focus was primarily on Jazz and High Kick
performance teams throughout my school years. I won numerous
awards including top honors for high kick, choreography, prop
and solo routines in State competitions.
With over 12 years of dance experience, I began teaching the art
of dance with Kathy Marfin’s studio in San Antonio. I had the
honor of teaching competition dance team technique and high
kick precision with middle school and high school students. It
was here that I found my true love in working with the youngest
dancers. I specialized with age 3 to 8 year olds in creative dance
and combination classes that included tap, ballet and tumbling.
After four seasons, I turned my focus to my young family and
career in the financial industry.
After having spent 25 years in the banking industry and seeing
my two oldest children off to serve in the Air Force and Marine
Corps, my youngest daughter and I began dancing again.
I was given the wonderful opportunity to return three seasons
ago to teach at Prima Ballet. Dance is not only an Art, but an
exercise for the body and mind. My goal is to have each young
student not only learn dance, but experience the excitement, fun
and inspiration that movement in dance can give them for the
rest of their lives…
